This between-album tour was a short run of festivals around Europe, taking place after the release of Unravelling, which became the first single to be released since Will of the People and was later also included into the new album, The Wow! Signal. The tour mostly took place in Nordic countries, which Muse haven't visited since the Simulation Theory era (2019), or the Drones era (2016) in the case of Sweden.

Information

Matt releaved in an interview on Radio 1, on 19 June 2025, that the band originally were not planning on touring at all in 2025 and were instead going to focus soley on making their next album. However, after Foo Fighters pulled out of Hellfest[1] and the band agreed to step in to replace them, the band decided to play more shows that year. The focus on heavy music of some of the festivals (like Hellfest and Tons of Rock) influenced the sound on their afforementioned song "Unravelling"

Some of the shows on this tour were the band stepping up to replace other artists that were schelduled to play or had to drop out from playing. As mentioned, Hellfest had scheduled Foo Fighters at first, before they canceled their original 2025 plans, while Mad Cool and NOS Alive had Kings of Leon headlining at first, but were replaced by Muse because of an emergency surgery undergone by lead singer Caleb Followill.[2]

The Rockfest festival in Turku, Finland, was the first stop on this short tour which ended at the NOS Alive festival in Lisbon, Portugal. A concert in Istanbul was announced at the start of 2025, but was quickly cancelled because of the political situation in Turkey.

The tour also included a few non-festival gigs, being preceded 2 days before by a one-off show in a small venue in Helsinki, Finland, where Unravelling made it's live debut, and succeded by a short Asian tour in Indonesia, Japan and Korea. The production and the setlist structure were kept the same for (most) festival shows and the Asian tour.

Stage Design & Production

The festival brought in a new stage design compared to that of the previous tour, with its main feature being a set of 20 video panel cubes, hung above the band, each with a moving light fixture hanging underneath, which were raised or lowered depending on the song. The design was somewhat reminiscent of Metallica's WorldWired tour design, which also featured a number of floating video cubes. Pyro and Compliance streamers were also used throughout the shows.

The show was designed by Jesse Lee Stout of Metaform Studio, with the tour's personel consisting of production manager George Reeves and his assistant, Zach Singer, stage manager Stuart Tucker, lighting designer Sooner Routhier and touring lighting designer Joseph Morris with light programmers Jason Giaffo and Dane Kick. Video content was provided by Boxcat with video programmer Jared McCammon of MotionSound with LED floating panels were provided by TAIT Towers and their kinetics programmers Doug Sager with The JoJo Studio providing operation on-tour.[3]

Average Setlist

There were two distinct sets played on the tour with one geared towards more general public, with the second one, featuring heavier songs, reserved for Hellfest and Tons of Rock. The tour featured Knights of Cydonia and Time Is Running Out performed half a step down for their first time. Isolated System was remixed and performed live by Dan Lancaster.

United States of Eurasia and Unintended were played for the first time in 9 and 12 years respectively.

Notes & Exceptions

  • First two gigs (including the intimate promo show) in Finland had shorter sets with Starlight & Knights of Cydonia swapped, Plug In Baby moved to an earlier slot, and Will of the People also in the set
  • Will of the People only made one other appearance later in the tour, in Yokohama
  • At the STHLM Fields gig, the set was shortened due to weather, missing the Victory Square & Time Is Running Out combo, Isolated System and Undisclosed Desires, all present on the written setlist
  • Unintended was cut at Open'er Festival
  • New Born replaced Compliance for two gigs of the Asian tour in Jakarta and Osaka, while Resistance made its only appearance at the Jakarta gig
  • Stockholm Syndrome and Thought Contagion were swapped for the final gig of the tour in Incheon
