Teignmouth rockers Muse have been nominated for four prestigious NME Awards.The news comes days after Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenhome were nominated for three Brit awards.

Muse, who formed at Teignmouth Community College, are up for Best British Band, Best Live Band, Best Album for Supermassive Black Hole [sic] and Best Track.

Votes for the NME awards are cast by members of the public.

NME editor, Conor McNicholas said: "This year's Shockwaves NME Awards nominations reflect what has been an exceptional 12 months for rock music."

The winners will be announced at Hammersmith Palais in London on March 1.
