The Sea were an English rock band from Cornwall, formed in 2007 and disbanned in 2014. The band consisted of brothers Peter Chisholm (lead vocals, guitar, keyboard) and Alex Chisholm (Drums, percussion and backing vocals). They were signed to Lusty Records in the UK, the Hamburg-based Popup Records in mainland Europe and Black Nutria in Italy.

Together, they released three studio albums; Get It Back (2009), Rooftops and 1808 (2014). Singles include Love Love Love (2007), which recieved a Number 8 spot on the Kerrang Chart and Single of the Week on The Guardian. The single also recieved large amounts of radio play, Don't You Want Me (2008), By Myself (2008) and Emily's Waltz (2012), amongst others. The band also released a limited edition EP, High On..., in 2013, on a 12" vinyl.

In 2010, Alex Chisholm suffered a terrible surfing accident in Cornwall with doctors being doubtfull he'll ever walk again, however his recovery was better than expected and within eight months, he was playing drums again. In a way of helping rehab, UK singer-songwriter James Morrison offered them a support slot on his UK tour in 2012. At the end of 2012, the band suffered yet another setback with a car crash in Belgium. Both band members walked out alive, however the tour had to be cancelled. In 2014, the band announced they'll retire, with their final sold outshow being at The Monarch in London on 20th July 2014.

The Sea supported Muse on one occasion only, on September 5th, 2009, on the second night of the Seaside Rendezvous gigs in Teignmouth.
