Amalie Arena, previously known as Ice Palace, St. Pete's Time Forum and Tampa Bay Times Forum, is an indoor arena, located in Tampa, Florida in the United States. It opened in 1996 and has, since then, been the home arena to the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team of NHL. Other previous tennants include Tampa Bay Storm of AFL and Tampa Breeze of LFL. The arena was designed by a former Minnesota-based architectural firm, Ellerbe Becket. It's maximum capacity sits at 21,500. In 2012, the venue underwent a major renovation. An outdoor deck and party area were also built, overlooking the outside plaza and facing the downtown skyline. New climate controls were installed to improve the ice surface and spectator comfort with new padded seats installed and new lighting was installed. Restrooms were also renovated and a new video display board was installed with two largest faces measuring 8,5 x 15,2 metres, making it the largest of its kind in the U.S..

The arena hosted several ice hockey, basketball and arena football games and concerts. Some of the sporting events include the 2004 and the 2015 Stanley Cup Finals, the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments, the 2007 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament and the 2009 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament and a few NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournaments. In 2016, the arena hosted Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions. Musical artists who performed at the arena include Bruce Springsteen, U2, Van Halen, Roger Waters, Iron Maiden, 2Cellos and more.
