I'm trying my hardest to not be too critical....

here goes...

I like the fact that we have a bit of customisation, but it seems to me a bit too plain for a site such as ours. User: 00:07, 25 January 2008 (GMT)

Hopefully we can get our own colour scheme and everything, I have a limited amount of time to do this kind of stuff so yeah :( people who are good at css and are good with web designing on existing sites can give it a go, use web developer and add the css at the end and send me it to give it a go and I'll append to it --crazybobbles 04:55, 25 January 2008 (GMT)
It's looking good so far. Could we have the collapsible tables code installed (i.e. copied and pasted) to MediaWiki:Common.js at some point maybe? Pleeeease? ۞ 12:29, 25 January 2008 (GMT)
That work? :p --crazybobbles 16:33, 25 January 2008 (GMT)
I'm going on this so the content of Mediawiki:Common.css is needed too apparently. Thanks. ۞ 16:41, 25 January 2008 (GMT)
Did it work? :p (ooh more icons on the thingy) --crazybobbles 16:49, 25 January 2008 (GMT)
It's working great (after clearing the cache), cheers! ۞ 19:32, 25 January 2008 (GMT)

Classes

Hm, so how do we use elements with classes in pages I wonder ... --Tene 13:15, 25 January 2008 (GMT)

That was a question posed as a statement, btw. --Tene 15:52, 25 January 2008 (GMT)
mmm got to love using classes, yeah hopefully more monobook.css edits will be good :D --crazybobbles 16:33, 25 January 2008 (GMT)
Classes are great but mediawiki seems to ignore classes in elements on pages :/ I'm trying to use the ol' method of CSS menus (to de-clutter infoboxes), with class'd lists. Also, it treats custom elements as normal text. Is there a way to either
  • Implement custom elements; or
  • Use classed elements on pages?
Also is there a method of using embedded stylesheets on a page per page basis, that you know of?
PS welcome back, for a short stay(?). :) --Tene 16:46, 25 January 2008 (GMT)
Uhm, i'm guessing if you just paste the style on the page via <style></style> it should work (probably not, who knows? :p) are you using the holy grail of css developing (ie firebug?) you should be able to pinpoint things more that way, otherwise you need to whack on a few !important stuff or whatever to get the elements you want --crazybobbles 16:49, 25 January 2008 (GMT)
Tried the first method a long time ago :P I use the web development toolbar, haven't tried firebug ... I thought that was more along the lines of Venkman to be honest. I'll give that a shot ... I'll try important too. I guess I should use common.css instead of this too, I had no idea where these were until you edited them (same with the sidebar), heh. --Tene 16:55, 25 January 2008 (GMT)
Okay, now the element hiding is working :/ Cache problem perhaps? --Tene 17:06, 25 January 2008 (GMT)
It did say you need to refresh the cache and all so yeah :) Definitely give firebug a go since you can easily identify elements etc. I'm in New York and work is quite free and all, I've been doing wikis elsewhere and have messed around with it a bit more to discover stuff like editing monobook.css :D --crazybobbles 17:19, 25 January 2008 (GMT)

Discoboxes

Why are the colours not appearing? Niall 14:29, 29 July 2009 (BST)

The rules are either wrong or being overridden. I don't know which, unfortunately. --Tene 15:43, 29 July 2009 (BST)
Woop, fixed. Missing curly bracket -.-. Btw, would you mind terribly if I added you on MSN or GTalk? --Tene 12:22, 31 July 2009 (BST)
