Matt's Mesa Boogie Badlander

One of the newest Rectifier amps to be made by Mesa Boogie, the Badlander is a series of guitar amplifiers, produced in either 50 or 100 watt varieties, both featuring the same controls, with the 100 watt version also coming in rack-mount and combo versions. The Badlander is described by Mesa Boogie as being "more tighter, meaner and aggressive" than the regular Rectifier.

Badlander's two channels feature three modes; Clean, Crunch and Crush, both with their respective amount of gain. It also features Mesa Boogie's channel cloning technology. The 100 watt allows for the player to switch between 100, 50 or 20 watts of output, while the 50 watt head can switch between 50 and 20. The preamp tubes in this amp are five 12AX7, with four EL-34 or 6L6 power amp tubes. In terms of controls, the Badlander has two 3-position mode switches (one for each channel) with gain, treble, mid, bass, presence and master knobs per-channel, and an 8-position CabClone IR select switch controls on the back panel. It has one footswitch input and a guitar input. It also has a variac power switch.[1]

Mesa Boogie's Badlander is the first Mesa Boogie amp owned by Matt. It was purchased during the recording process of Will of the People, and its picture is featured in the September 2022 issue of Total Guitar magazine.
