As far as we know, Chris has been using Pedullas live from 1999 to 2005.
As far as we know, Chris has been using Pedullas live from 1999 to 2005. He bought a Rapture Candy Blue RB4 J2 from Mansons for £1,300 in December 2000. Since then he has gone with the single pickup model as he preferred the sound. Most of his Pedullas are standard stock models. The black Pedulla that can be seen in the picture was once Candy Red, but he sprayed it Satin Black. Chris has a pattern sprayed on his bass and it is not paint that has fallen off. The pickups are Bartolini.

After using Pedullas for 5 years for live performances, when the Black Holes and Revelation Tour started, he swapped from Pedullas to Fender Jazz Basses. Currently, the only song that is played with a Pedulla Rapture RB4 is Micro Cuts, although he did used the Candy Red/Satin Black one at the Shepherds Bush gig for Stockholm Syndrome and Butterflies and Hurricanes. Also, it seems that he uses his Blue Pedulla for recording.

Known Basses Used By Wolstenholme:

Tobacco Sunburst, Rosewood Neck, Tortoise Shell Pickguard, Single Soapbar Pickup
Chris' first known Pedulla. Used from 1999 to 2000 for songs in DADG tuning (Such as Bizarre Festival 2001 & at some gigs in 2001 (Such as St. Malo 2001)

Candy Blue, Rosewood Neck, White Pickguard, Dual J-Bass Pickups
This bass was used to record Origin Of Symmetry & was used at some gigs in 2001 before being sold on eBay later that year. Chris preferred the sound of the single soapbar Rapture & since then, has only used single pickup Raptures.

Candy Blue, Rosewood Neck, White Pickguard, Single Soapbar Pickup
Used from 2001 after Chris had sold the blue dual pickup Rapture. Can be seen on the Hullabaloo DVD for songs in standard tuning. This bass was also used for live performances of Space Dementia in 2004 & Micro Cuts at the first Wembley Stadium gig.
Was also tested in studio whilst recording Undisclosed Desires to try find the best slap sound.

Flat Black, Rosewood Neck, Flat Black Pickguard, Single Soapbar Pickup
Used for songs in dropped-D tuning between 2001 & 2003, can be seen on the Hullabaloo DVD. While playing Stockholm Syndrome in Trabendo, France in 2003, a straplock broke causing Chris to play the remainder of the song while trying to hold the bass up. After Bellamy had thrashed Howard's kit, Chris held the bass over his head & launched it onto the drum riser. The bass landed on the head, possibly cracking it & has not been seen since.

Candy Red, Rosewood Neck, White Pickguard, Single Soapbar Pickup
This bass was used for all songs in standard tuning between 2002 & 2005. At the end of 2003, Chris sprayed the white pickguard flat black & after a while sprayed the whole body flat black, except for a design believed to be a Dragon, which was left red.
Chris also used this bass briefly in 2006 for the Shepherds Bush gig for 2 songs, Stockholm Syndrome and Butterflies and Hurricanes, possibly because of the fast-paced finger picking in both songs, Chris was more comfortable with the usual feel of the Rapture.

Unknown Original Colour, Rosewood Neck, Unknown Original Pickguard, Single Soapbar Pickup, 5-string
Used for songs in dropped-D tuning between 2003-2004. This bass has been sprayed flat black all over the body, the original colour is not known. Chris has never used this bass as a 5 string, the headstock has been cracked & a tuning peg is missing, so he just uses it in DADG tuning. Wolstenholme would often throw this bass around when performing live, throwing it on stage from the crowd area at Pinkpop & Glastonbury 2004, among others & often throwing it at Howard's kit.
After playing Wiltern Theatre, Los Angeles in 2004, Chris began smashing Dom's crash cymbals violently using the head of this bass.
