Mew

Mew are a Danish alternative rock band from Hellerup, consisting of Jonas Bjerre (lead vocals), Johan Wohlert (bass) and Silas Utke Graae Jørgensen (drums). Bo Madsen left the band in 2015 and was replaced by Silas Utke Graae Jørgensen.

The band formed in 1995 but didn't recieve commercial success up until the release of their debut album Frengers in 2003. After the album recieved positive feedback from critics, they went on a European tour, supporting R.E.M.. Their follow up album, And the Glass Handed Kites, was released in 2005. They were picked by MTV Asia as "Buzz-Worthy" as of January 2006, and at the 2006 Danish Music Awards they took home 4 awards. After gigging, they released their third album, No More Stories Are Told Today, I'm Sorry They Washed Away // No More Stories, The World Is Grey, I'm Tired, Let's Wash Away or as it's sometimes shortened as No More Stories... in 2009. The album was produced by Rich Costey. The same year, they also went on a tour supporting Nine Inch Nails. The fourth album, + -, released in 2015, was recorded over a period of three years, and features guitarist Russell Lissack of Bloc Party providing guitar on one song. Singles from the album were released between 2012 and 2015. The latest album, Visuals, was released in 2017.

Mew supported Muse in 2013 during The Unsustainable Tour, in Helsinki.
