Background

This was Matthew Bellamy's first guitar to feature an X-Y MIDI plate, able to control a number of devices, including a Korg Kaoss pad, or a Digitech Whammy etc. This feature has since been included in many of Bellamy's guitars such as the Red Glitter and the Black Midi. This was also Matthew Bellamy's first Manson guitar to feature a Fernandes Sustainer .The guitar also has a pair of hot P90's in the bridge position and was the first of the Matthew Bellamy's custom Manson's to have this configuration. This layout now features on the Mirror Kaoss and on the Doubleneck.

Additional Information

The guitar made its live debut at Radio 1's Big Weekend on the 13th May 2006. It is featured in music videos for "Invincible", "Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)" and an alternative version of " Supermassive Black Hole" (watch). It can also be seen in the Making of Uprising video.

Although it is named officially as "M1D1 Black"[1] it is better known to fans as "Kaoss Manson".
