Background

The latest Manson made its debut two months after the demise of the M1D1 Manson, and is presumably its replacement (as both have Bare Knuckle Nailbomb Humbuckers at the bridge and Fernandes Sustainers at the neck). It is the first of Matt's Mansons to be fitted with a Tronical PowerTune Automatic Guitar Tuning System.

Additional Information

It is possible that the settings on the tuning system are limited to DADGBE, CADGBE and EbAbDbGbBbEb, as Fury and Starlight are played in Eb live, Dead Star, New Born and Stockholm Syndrome are played in Drop D, and Map of the Problematique is played in standard-C.

Official replicas of the Seattle Manson and Glitterati Manson can be bought from the Manson online store. The MB-1 range (Matt Bellamy series 1) has a starting price of £3099 for a Black basic version, Midi screen is an additional £300 and custom machine heads an additional £250

Matt uses two of these guitars live, both are almost exactly identical apart from having different bridge pickup configurations. One has a manson bare knuckle humbucker and the other has two (presumably manson bare knuckle) P90's wired in as one large humbucker to eliminate hum and increase the gain. The p90 config. he uses for hysteria. It is perfectly possible that the two guitars have different tuning setups.

Touring

The Black Midi Guitar is known to fans as the Seattle Manson because it was first used during the Seattle gig on 9th September 2007, the first night of the final US leg of the Black Holes and Revelations tour.
