The O2 Arena, formerly the Millennium Dome and North Greenwich Arena during the 2012 London Olympics, is an arena on London's Greenwich Peninsula. The arena is used for concerts, exhibitions and sport events. The arena was designed by Populous, a global architectural firm, which was back then known as HOK Sport Venue Event. The arena features an interchangable ground surface between an ice rink, basketball course, tennis course, exhibition space, conference venue, private hire venue and concert venue. The arena, as well as the overall O2 complex housed under the dome, is named after its sponsor, the UK telecommunications company O2. Apart from the arena, the dome building and the complex also houses a small concert venue called Indigo at The O2, the Cineworld movie theatre, and Hollywood Bowl, a bowling alley/arcade. The complex also houses Building Six, a club venue,, a trampoline park called Oxygen Freejumping, a VR entertainment station called ImmotionVR, O2 Blueroom, a designated lounge bar, and various shops, restaurants and bars, including the 85-store ICON Outlet mall. The arena also features a special climbing experience where visitors can climb up the dome roof, assisted by climbers.

The dome-shaped building, which now houses the arena, used to be a large empty space called the Millenium Dome, housing a major exhibition called the Millennium Experience. It was built in 1999 and was open for public between 1st of January and 31st of December 2000. After the exhibition closed, in 2001, the Millenium Dome was leased to Meridian Delta Ltd. for redevelopment as an entertainment and sports complex. Conversion from the exhibition hall to an arena spanned from 2003 to 2007. The arena takes up approximately 40% of the building. For London's Summer Olympics in 2012, the arena was renamed to North Greenwich Arena due to regulations regarding corporate names of the venues.

With the capacity of over 20,000 it is the second largest arena in the United Kingdom (preceded only by Manchester Arena) and the fifth largest in Europe. In 2018, it was the most busiest venue in the world, selling over 1,4 million tickets for events held in the arena.

As of The Resistance tour, every headlining tour featured Muse performing at least two consecutive nights at the arena. In 2016, Muse broke the arena's attendance record with 21,000 people being present at the gig on April 15th. In 2019, while performing at The O2 Arena during the Simulation Theory World Tour in September, Muse recorded both the night one and night two gigs for an upcoming live film, scheduled to be released in 2020.
