Joe Meek wrote and produced the 1962 hit single by the Tornados, George Bellamy's band. In a 2006 forum post Muse mentioned that somewhere on Black Holes and Revelations there would be a place for "the sound of Joe Meek's tape machine being thrown down the stairs".
