Teignmouth's supergroup Muse were among the winners at the Brit Awards last night.

The three-piece band, who grew up and met in South Devon, picked up the Best British Live Act award at the ceremony at Earls Court. The band were up for four awards - Best British Band, Best Live Band, Best Album for Supermassive Black Hole [sic] and Best Track but only came away with one award.

The Devon trio gave out a Valentine's message as they arrived on stage telling the crowd: "To all you lovers out there, Happy Valentine's day".

The band beat off competition from mega-stars Robbie Williams and George Michael.

The show was screened live for the first time in years and hosted by Russell Brand.
