BB&T Center, known previously as National Car Rental Center (until 2002), Office Depot Center (2002-2005) and BankAtlantic Center (2005-2012), is an indoor multi-purpose arena located in Sunrise, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The arena was opened in 1998 and was designed by architect Ellerbe Becket. It was built for the Florida Panthers hockey team of NHL, who were obtained in 1992 by American bussinesman Wayne Huizenga and have, until the BB&T Center opened, played at the now demolished Miami Arena, which they shared with Miami Heat of NBA. The arena has the capacity of anywhere between 3,000 and 20,737 people, depending on the event, making it the largest arena in Florida and the fourth largest arena in the United States. It is operated by Arena Operating Company, Ltd.

Apart from Florida Panthers, who still reside in the arena, former tennants include Florida ThunderCats of NPSL, Florida Bobcats of AFL, Florida PitBulls of ABA and Miami Caliente of LFL. The arena hosted various NHL games and events, including the 2001 and 2015 NHL Entry Drafts and in 2003, it hosted the NHL All-Star Game. It also hosted the WCW Bash At The Beach wrestling event and the WWF Armaggedon wrestling event, both in 1999, and a 2002 WWE Armaggedon event. In 2012, the arena hosted UFC on FX3 and in 2010, it hosted the Strikeforce MMA event. Musical acts who performed inside the arena include Bee Gees, Marilyn Manson, Paul McCartney, Green Day, Depeche Mode, Twenty One Pilots, Elton John and more. Other events that took place at the arena include the 2008 Barack Obama rally and the 2016 and 2019 Donald Trump rallies. In 2018, a CNN Town Hall meeting on gun control was held at the arena, after the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, which occured a week before in Parkland, Florida.
