Description

A very loud song with distorted guitars and vocals, an is quite similar to Agitated. The 1997 demo version of "Ashamed" is almost a minute longer and contains a slow bridge towards the end of the track, analogous to that of early live plays of "Assassin". This song heavily borrows from the song "Snakecharmer" by Rage Against the Machine. The Outro riff bears ressemblance to the Outro riff from "Freedom" by Rage Against The Machine.

Additional information

It is possibly about a girl whose partner thinks she is uncertain about the relation but is too ashamed to tell him.

Live

Rarely played live, mainly during the latter part of the "Showbiz" during the Showbiz tour. The outro riff was popularly used as an outro to "Showbiz" during the Showbiz and Origin of Symmetry tours, as can be heard on the Hullabaloo CD and DVD. It has also been used recently during the Black Holes and Revelations tour as an outro to "New Born".

Lyrics

I know there's something

That you're dying to tell me I hope it's not about it in case you love me

Make sure no one finds out Tell me all about it Don't keep it to yourself Because I can't bear the thought I never needed your cry I know you love me It doesn't matter because I'm in control

I know that you're ashamed So emotional it kills you Don't you know that you're ashamed? So emotional it kills you

There's always something that makes you guilty There's still something that you're dying to tell me

Demo version

I can tell there's something

That you're dying to tell me I know it's not about you And not about my love

Make sure no one finds out Tell me all about it Don't keep it to yourself Because I can't bear the thought Never leave me crying I know you'll find me I don't matter cause I'm in control

I know that you're ashamed So much that it thrills you Don't you know that you're ashamed? So much that it thrills you

I can tell that you ??? It's still not about my contrary loving

Make sure no one finds out Tell me all about it Don't keep it to yourself Because I can't bear the thought Never leave me crying I know you'll find me I don't matter cause I'm in control

I know that you're ashamed So much that it thrills you Don't you know that you're ashamed? So much that it kills you

I kill I kill I kill

Get out of my head Get out of my head Get out of my head Get out of my head

Get out of my head (Don't really know) Get out of my head (Don't really know) Get out of my head (Don't really know) Get out of my head
