Help me name all the riffs and jams there are. Along with the obvious RATM ones, there are tons of Glastonbury after Sunburn thing, SS outro, etc. Anyway, lemme start off with:

  • Whole Lotta Love
  • Maggie's Farm
  • Microphone Fiend
  • Township Rebellion
  • SS outro (eg. Glastonbury 2004)
  • proto-Hyper Music riff (watch)
  • Jazz riff (after Muscle Museum on Hullabaloo, etc. (watch))
  • After Sunburn at Glastonbury 2004 (watch)
  • etc.

--Muserwiki 06:54, 29 March 2008 (GMT)

I just realized the proto-Hyper Music riff has elements of Jimmy Jam as well, and at the very end of the clip, it also has the Jazz riff that I listed right after it. Anyway. --Muserwiki 07:05, 29 March 2008 (GMT)
Listening to several bootlegs and the riff itself, I've come to conclusion that "proto-Hyper Music" is not really "Hyper Music". The actual riff for it was played as early as March 2000 (Melbourne ABC Studios 2000), which is way before Eurock 2000 (July 2000). I'm thinking it's just a blues jam that sounds similar. In any case, that blues jam on Eurock 2000 and other instances of the same jam have the ascending and descending jazz riff thing after Muscle Museum on Hullabaloo. --Muserwiki 05:57, 29 April 2008 (BST)

Would the riffs and jams that featured Bellamy on piano have a place here? In mind I had such examples as the pre-Butterflies and Hurricanes solo played circa-2001 and the numerous Rachmaninoff quotes. Perhaps a link to the relevant composer pages; eg. Music by Sergei Rachmaninov? --DJF 13:00, 22 May 2008 (BST)

Of course, I just don't know them enough to add them myself :D --Muserwiki 05:09, 25 May 2008 (BST)

Space Dementia outro

Should it be added here? --Susurr0 11:23, 9 July 2008 (BST)

as in the section of space dementia played after KoC in 2006? if so then no, there is already a section on that on Space Dementia (song), Muse songs that have been adapted into riffs dont need to be on here i dont think. unless there is a small section on them at the bottom with a list of songs that have been used like this.
all the different Stockholm outros do need to be added though (Glastonbury, Reading, Wembley) do any of these have specific names?. --Wilfio 12:40, 9 July 2008 (BST)
Well, I think it deserves a mention, apart from being on the song's article. As do some others such as Dead Star/Hyper Music riffs etc. --Susurr0 20:23, 9 July 2008 (BST)
yeah maybe a mention. what other songs have been used? Agitated and Ashamed? does Take a Bow count as it was used before it turned into a song rather than after?--Wilfio 21:13, 9 July 2008 (BST)
Stockholm Syndrome and Butterflies and Hurricanes (piano part) are the only ones I can think of. And yeah they count, as they are riffs anyway.
I also think we should list piano riffs and guitar riffs separately.--Susurr0 15:03, 10 July 2008 (BST)
To throw my 2p in here, I disagree with listing any of them. If we start listing the riffs of other songs that were played as outros, we're going to start wanting to list riffs from everything, and before you know it, there'll be a comprehensive list of every riff ever done in every song. I hardly think that's necessary, it's what the song pages are for. I think this page should be for the riffs that were played live only. -frozenjakalope 15:10, 10 July 2008 (BST)
Well, there aren't so many. Plus the fact that they're already on each song's page doesn't mean they shouldn't be listed here as well.--Susurr0 16:50, 10 July 2008 (BST)
The Groove and Execution Commentary have also been used :) --Wilfio 17:38, 10 July 2008 (BST)
I'm also saying no to putting Muse songs here after they have been recorded - Like SD outro, DS and HM. Similarly, if things like Drum and Bass become full songs they should be removed from this list with earlier incarnations discussed in the (song) article. Otherwise information becomes split or duplicated over multiple articles. This pages should be reserved for music that is only ever a live riff or jam, just as the song page should be reserved only for full songs. ۞ 18:24, 10 July 2008 (BST)

Not sure about this but....

I saw this on YouTube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eF_MQqveFc ) and wondered if this should be on this list? I listened to the other riffs you have here and couldn't place it anywhere, or in any previous song. Is it an outro? Anyway, I thought I'd leave it with you incase it had slipped through the net. If you're already aware of it then my apologies; at the very least it's an amusing little clip!
