Information

A short 11 gigs tour Muse did in August and September 2003, in support of their then upcoming album, Absolution.

The tour consisted of two types of concerts, short promotional shows on radio or television, and private shows for a few fans in small venues. At concerts in the media they mainly played the singles (Hysteria, Stockholm Syndrome and Time Is Running Out), while in private shows they played a small set of between 7 and 10 songs, almost always including an encore that was not on the setlist. These songs played in the encore were those that were not usually played during the concert, such as Micro Cuts, Muscle Museum, Hyper Music or occasionally The Small Print and New Born.

On this tour Time Is Running Out, Sing For Absolution, Blackout, Butterflies & Hurricanes, Thoughts of a Dying Atheist and The Groove saw their live debut, along with the final and album versions of Stockhokm Syndrome, Hysteria and The Small Print.

Private gigs

At the private shows there was a way to win the tickets, this was:

Ten pairs of tickets were made available through a competition by Warner Music in which participants had to choose which of the six promotional gigs they wanted to go to, and answer the following two questions:

  1. Which Stanley Kubrick film inspired the set design for Muse's latest video 'Time Is Running Out'?
  2. What is the release date of Muse's new album 'Absolution'?

Answers had to be sent to muse@warner.music.com.
