Matthew Bellamy is really scared of spiders, to the point of phobia. "Millipedes as well. I'm scared of legs."[source?]

In 2000, Matt told Melody Maker that he believes that we evolved from spiders - and that they float around space.[source?] In contradiction, he claimed that he wishes that the gravity in the world were lighter so spiders would die.^[1]
