Jane's Addiction is an American alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1985. The band have break up various times and have a long list of past members. Jane's Adicction disbanded first in 1991, to later return in 1997 and again in 2001.
They were one of the first bands to emerge from the early 1990s alternative rock movement to gain mainstream media attention and commercial success in the United States. Their initial farewell tour launched the first Lollapalooza festival, an alternative rock showcase.

  • During an interview with the music magazina "Rolling Stone" vocalist Perry Farrel noted Muse's influence on Jane´s Addiction newest album "The Great Escape Artist" saying: "It's a strange mixture of that post-punk Goth darkness that Jane's had with what's going on today with groups like Muse and Radiohead,"
