MUSE HOPING FOR BRIT SUCCESS

Teignmouth rockers Muse will find out tonight if they've won a prestigious Brit Award.

The supergroup, made up of Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenhome are nominated for four awards in total.They've got stiff competition if they are to come away with Best British Band, Best Live Band, Best Album for Supermassive Black Hole [sic] and Best Track.

The group join Lily Allen and Gnarls Barkley as this year's most nominated act.

In total 46 artists are crossing their fingers for an award, but there are only 13 statuettes to give out.

Mancunian rockers Oasis will walk off with The Outstanding Contribution to Music Award.

They will perform at the glitzy event along with Amy Winehouse, Corrine Bailey Rae, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Snow Patrol, The Killers, Scissor Sisters and Take That.

Taking place at London's Earls Court, the 26th Brit Awards will be hosted by comedian Russell Brand and broadcast between 8pm and 10pm on ITV's channels, with the main action taking place at 9pm on ITV1.
